ಬಸವಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ತಾಲೂಕು ಚಾಲುಕ್ಯರ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು ೧೨ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ, ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ, ವೈಚಾರಿಕ ಕ್ರಾಂತಿಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬಿಂದುವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಸುಮಾರು ೩೮ ಸಾವಿರ ಲಾರಿ ಉದ್ಯಮಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿವೆ.

Basavakalyan is located at far north-east of Karnataka. When you travel from Mumbai to Hyderabad by Natianal highway No – NH-9, and cross Maharashtra border and get into Karnataka, this is where Basavakalyan province starts. Basavakalyan town is approximately 17 Kms from this border, on the highway. Hyderabad is appx. 180 Kms from this town.

Basavakalyan's history dates back to 3000 years with its name being mentioned in Guru Charitra.

Before India's independence, Basavakalyan was called Kalyan. After independence and division of states on linguistic basis in 1956, Kalyana was renamed as BasavaKalyana in memory of Vishwaguru Basavanna, a great revolutionary who established Anubhava Mantapa (spiritual democracy) in 12th Century in India.

ಗಣಕೀಕರಣ : ನಗರಸಭೆ ಬಸವಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ಆಸ್ತಿ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸುವದು ಪ್ರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇದರ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 1995 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಈವರೆಗೆ ಜನನ ಮತ್ತು ಮರಣ ದಾಖಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗಣಕೀಕೃತಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದು, ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಜನನ-ಮರಣ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗಧಿತ ಶುಲ್ಕ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ಪಡೆಯಬಹುದಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ನಾಗರಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೂರುಗಳು ಆನ್ಲೈನ್ ಅಥವಾ ದೂರವಾಣಿ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 08481-250204 ಮೂಲಕ ನೂಂದಣೆ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು.
